SOH CAH TOA Explained
Trigonometric ratios are defined based on the sides of a right-angled triangle relative to an angle θ.
- Sine: sin(θ) = Opposite / Hypotenuse (SOH)
- Cosine: cos(θ) = Adjacent / Hypotenuse (CAH)
- Tangent: tan(θ) = Opposite / Adjacent (TOA)
The Pythagorean Theorem
For any right triangle: a² + b² = c². This helps when you know two sides and want to find the third.
