How to Calculate the Required Final Exam Score
The formula is: Required Score = (Target Grade − Current Grade × (1 − Final Weight)) ÷ Final Weight. For example, if your current grade is 78%, the final is worth 30%, and you want 80%: Required = (80 − 78 × 0.70) ÷ 0.30 = (80 − 54.6) ÷ 0.30 = 84.67%.
