How Weighted Grades Work
A weighted grade assigns different importance to each component. For example, if Homework is 20%, Midterm is 30%, and Final is 50%, a score of 80/100 on each contributes 0.20×80 + 0.30×80 + 0.50×80 = 80%. If you scored differently on each, higher weight on the final exam makes it more impactful on your overall grade.
