What is the One-Rep Maximum?

The one-rep max (1RM) is the maximum amount of weight you can lift for a single repetition with correct form. It is the gold standard for measuring strength. Since direct 1RM testing carries injury risk, this calculator estimates it from submaximal lifts. Accuracy is highest with 3–10 reps; beyond 15 reps results become less reliable.
